Two dead in Delray Beach Brightline train crash

DELRAEY BEACH, Florida. Two people have died after their SUV was hit by a Brightline train, Delray Beach police said Wednesday night.

Delray Beach police and rescue services responded to the crash around 8:00 pm.

The police agency tweeted that the car was on the tracks when it collided with a southbound train.

Lindell Boulevard has been closed on the Dixie Highway in all directions while police investigate the accident, the agency said on Facebook.

FEC tracks run west of Dixie.

Rob Callahan witnessed the aftermath from his apartment and posted the image to WPTV.

The nearest train station, Brightline, is in Boca Raton.
