Two cupids spread love all over the Slow Street page

This Valentine’s Day, Page Street will be adorned with love notes written to loved ones, friends, roommates, and even pets.

Molly Hayden and Jessica Jenkins — Page’s two Slow Street stewards (or the Cupids, if you will) — are inviting San Francisco residents who use or simply appreciate the popular car-lit corridor to send letters.

“We just figured it would be a really unique way to celebrate Page Street and be pretty cute,” Hayden said. “Many people write notes to their little children or dogs.”

With the help of volunteers, Hayden and Jenkins will make and distribute valentines around 20 blocks of Page Street on Friday night for enjoyment over the weekend and ahead of Valentine’s Day.

This is the second year the duo has been spreading love to Paige. In 2022, they made and posted over 100 heart-shaped valentines that Hayden cut out of colored construction paper and laminated. This time, she hopes to get even more “artsy,” perhaps using alcohol ink to create vibrant patterns and designs.

Cupids are expecting more love letters than ever before, with close to 100 letters already sent as of press time.

Application examples this year:

“You are the greatest conversation of my life and I adore your pure, adventurous soul. Now let’s open a Coca-Cola, have a damn good meal and put on a movie.”

“I’m sorry you have to wear a cone of shame, but you’re the best puppy in the world, Ryu!”

“Joshua, my eternal Valentine! You will be a dad! The best dad! I love you.”

You can participate in the promotion by submitting a Valentine via this Google form. Just be sure to send your love note by midnight on Thursday, February 9th so the cupids have time to create and post it.

Plus, if you want to turn your Valentine’s Day note into a brunch, bring your significant other, friend, or pet to Page Street on Sunday, February 12th. 10:00 to 12:00 at the corner of St. Baker and Paige are the perfect combination of love and good food.

Sending a valentine is free, although people interested in donating can donate to Page Slow Street to support future events.
