Tragic Murder-Suicide: Man Fatally Shoots Woman and Dog Before Taking His Own Life
Little Egg Harbor Township, NJ – Tragedy struck in Little Egg Harbor Township on July 29, 2023, when police responded to a disturbing 911 call reporting a potential break-in. Upon arrival at a residence on Whitemarsh Court, officers forced their way into the apartment and discovered the lifeless body of a 49-year-old woman. She had suffered a fatal gunshot wound to her face. Shockingly, a dog was also found deceased within the apartment with apparent gunshot wounds. To add to the horror, a 52-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his head was also present. Although initially conscious, the male victim was rushed to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation into this devastating incident is being conducted by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit and the Little Egg Harbor Township Police Department. Based on preliminary findings, it appears that the male suspect shot both the female victim and the dog before turning the gun on himself.
