Total rainfall in the Bay Area: See how much rain fell during the post-Christmas storm

The post-Christmas storm gave the Bay Area a generous gift: rain, and lots of it.

Mount Tamalpais in Marin County led the way, collecting a whopping 6 inches of rain as of 1 p.m. Tuesday, NBC Bay Area meteorologist Rob Mayeda said, citing preliminary data.

Other places in the North Bay such as Santa Rosa and Napa and places in the Santa Cruz Mountains received about 3 inches or more.

Rainfall totals at lower elevations ranged from about three-quarters of an inch at Antioch to nearly 2.5 inches at Auckland.
