Three suspects arrested in fentanyl raid, charged by feds with association with Sinaloa Cartel

DEA Agents have arrested three suspects charged with large-scale trading of fentanyl on behalf of the notorious Sinaloa Cartel. The suspects, identified as Alexander Campos, Luis Lopez Sanchez and Ashley Cobain, have been charged with possession and intent to distribute at least 400 grams of fentanyl-containing mixture and substance.

As per sources, the DEA was informed by a confidential source that Campos was willing to peddle large quantities of counterfeit Percocet pills, referred to as M30, which could be purchased. Negotiating a deal, the source settled for 125,000 pills to be acquired for $225,000 in Fort Worth. On the day of the transaction, law enforcement officials observed the three suspects in a car, arriving at a QuikTrip, agreeing to meet the source.

After a brief conversation, the suspects and the source took off to a nearby residence as the former had to retrieve the narcotics from a hidden compartment in the car. The authorities followed and witnessed Sanchez removing the rear passenger door panel, retrieving several brick-shaped packages that reportedly contained large quantities of M30 pills. A stop signal was given shortly after, culminating with the arrest and seizure of pills that tested positive for the presence of fentanyl.

Campos admitted his involvement with the Sinaloa Cartel in drug trafficking, conduct witnessed in several transactions over the past six to eight months, according to his testimony to authorities. Sanchez, on the other hand, acknowledged being recruited by the cartel for drug distribution and traveling to Fort Worth with Cobain and Campos, per the arrest report. Cobain, Campos’ former partner, also admitted awareness of Campos’ drug trafficking involvement and participated in a drug deal under the belief it was to raise some money with the sum of $4000, according to the report.

The DEA officials have charged the three suspects with the intent to distribute at least 400 grams of a fentanyl-containing mixture and substance. The consequences of such a charge can be severe, given the highly potent and deadly nature of fentanyl. The Sinaloa Cartel has long been infamous for its drug trafficking operations globally and has been accused in various criminal cases in the past. This latest case is another operation denting their nefarious operations and likely to have a severe impact on their future dealings.
