Friday, February 17

North Texas Auto Show at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center
Some of the biggest names in the automotive industry are showing off the future of cars at this year’s North Texas Auto Show. You can view and even test some of the latest car models. Electric vehicles are among the most popular at the show this year. It starts on Thursday and will run until Sunday.

Drew and Ellie Holcomb at the Kessler Theater
Nashville husband-and-wife duo Drew and Ellie Holcomb are playing a handful of shows this weekend at Kessler. Duo Americana released a new album last year and just released their new single “Bones”. They play Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights at Kessler. The show is sold out on the Kessler site, but we spotted a few in the resale market.

Ticket office at Plano Event Center
Watch Musers, hang out with Hang Zone, and listen to Hardline’s HSO. The annual Ticket celebration takes place at the Plano Event Center this Friday and Saturday. Micah Parsons and Bob Stoops will be there on Friday. Daryl “Moose” Johnston, Lil Mike and Fanny Bone from the Reservation Dogs will be in the building on Saturday. Then, on Saturday night, Ticket Timewasters closed it off with a massive concert that featured a song by Mike Doucey from FOX 4. The best part is that the event is completely free!

Godfrey at Addison Improv
The popular stand-up comedian will bring his set to the Addison Improv this weekend. The Chicago native comedian from films like Zoolander and Soul Plane will be performing Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday, February 18

Dallas Stars Black History Night at the American Airlines Center
The Stars are looking to maintain their winning streak in Saturday’s special game against the Columbus Blue Jackets. The team’s Black History Night will include a ceremonial puck dump by former Stars defenseman Trevor Daly. Earlier Saturday, PNC Plaza outside of AAC will be filled with black-owned businesses from across North Texas. The market will be open from 9 am to noon.

Alice in Wonderland at Moody Performance Hall
This Friday and Saturday, Avant Chamber Ballet will present their version of Alice in Wonderland. See the Queen of Hearts, the Mad Hatter and the rest of the gang with world class dancers accompanied by a live orchestra.

Dallas Bike Tours Dallas Farmers Market Valentine’s Day Ride
Grab your bike and get ready to ride! The bike tour passes through downtown Dallas, Deep Ellum, and Fair Park. The rate includes a free drink and photos. If you don’t have a bike, no problem! Rent is possible.

Arlington Renegades vs. Vegas Vipers at Choctaw Stadium
The XFL is back in Arlington. Watch coach Bob Stoops, former Southern Miss QB Kyle Slaughter and the rest of the team as they take on the Vegas Vipers. Beginning in Arlington at 2:00 pm.

Sunday, February 19

Oak Cliff Mardi Gras Parade
Fat Tuesday won’t be until next week, but Oak Cliff is throwing an early party. The parade will start at 2:00 pm on Davis Street from the area around the Kessler Theater towards Encina. There will be floats, music and lots of colorful costumes. After the parade is over, there will be many parties.

John Williams Celebration at Meyerson
The Dallas Symphony Orchestra pays tribute to one of the world’s greatest composers. Hear excerpts from Williams’ scores in Schindler’s List, Harry Potter, Aliens, Star Wars, Jaws, Born on the Fourth of July and more. Shows run from Friday to Sunday.

Charlotte’s Web at Casa Mañana
A classic story takes the stage in Fort Worth! See Charlotte, Wilbur and the whole gang! There will be several concerts over the weekend, the last of which will take place on February 19th.

DO NOT LET THE DOVE DRIVE THE BUS! MUSICAL! at the Dallas Children’s Theater
The popular children’s book is now in the game! During the weekend, before the last show on Sunday, there are several screenings of the play. The series is ideal for children ages 3 and up.
