More Than 20,000 Voters Cast Ballots in San Antonio’s Joint Elections

As early voting for San Antonio’s joint general, special, statutory, and bond elections continues from April 24 to May 2, Bexar County’s Board of Elections has reported that over 20,000 voters have already cast their ballots. This election will determine the mayor’s seat, all 10 city council positions, and Proposition A.

According to the data from the Bexar County Board of Elections, 9,362 and 10,737 voters voted on the first and second days of early voting, respectively. This shows that voters are eager to make their voices heard in this critical election.

Registered voters can vote in any polling station during the early voting period from April 24 to May 2 or on Election Day on May 6th. Making it easier for people to vote, regardless of their location.

The Bexar County polling station lists that have seen the highest and lowest number of voters each day of early voting have been released. On Tuesday, April 25, over 10,000 people visited the polling stations, with the Brookhollow Branch Library receiving the highest number of voters, followed by the Semmes Branch Library, the Cody Branch Library, the Maverick Branch Library, and the Tobin Branch Library at Oakwell. On the contrary, the Southside ISD Administration Building had only 4 voters, with Luckey Ranch Elementary, Lader Elementary School, ISD East Central Administration Building, and Palo Alto College (Palomino Center) having 13, 15, 23, and 36 voters, respectively.

The busiest polling stations on the first day of early voting were the Brookhollow Branch Library, the Cody Branch Library, the Maverick Branch Library, the Semmes Branch Library, and the Tobin Branch Library at Oakwell.

Furthermore, the Bexar County polling stations’ lists have seen the lowest number of voters each day of early voting, namely the Southside ISD Administration Building, ISD East Central Administration Building, Lader Elementary School, Luckey Ranch Elementary, and Palo Alto College (Palomino Center).

Early voting locations will be closed on Friday, April 28, for San Jacinto Holiday/Battle of the Flowers Day and on Sunday, April 30. Additionally, some voters may be eligible to vote by mail, but the last day to apply for mail-in voting was April 25.

It is essential to note that the last day to register to vote was April 6, but those who are unsure if they are registered can check their status on the Bexar County website.

During the early voting period, 42 polling stations will be available, so registered voters have plenty of options to cast their ballots.
