‘There’s a hole in your heart that will never heal’: community honors Arizona track coach murdered in cold blood

On Wednesday, Camelback High School honored the life of David Denogin by dedicating a meeting to him on the track and raising a banner to honor his legacy.

PHOENIX. Since the Valley athletics coach was murdered in cold blood last November, we have constantly expressed our love and support for the athletics coach.

On Wednesday, Camelback High School honored the life of David Denogin by dedicating a meeting to him on the track and raising a banner to honor his legacy.

Students, staff and more came to the event to support his family as the suspect is still a wanted man. David’s father, Frank, said that every day is a winding road, but this one is riddled with grief.

“There is a hole in your heart that will never heal. It’s the best way to express it,” Frank said.

The Phoenix Police are investigating, and new evidence is shedding light on who may be responsible.

On Sunday, Silent Witness released video evidence of the crime near 12th Street and Maryland Avenue. The video caught the Denogians by surprise.

“Seeing someone come in and basically shoot out of your son’s eyes is incredibly challenging. Frank added that we were not given any advance notice that this video would be published. the video is released, it was difficult.”

12News asked Sergeant Brian Bauer of Silent Witness why the family was not notified of the chilling video.

“There will be some mistakes and we learn from those mistakes, but ultimately Silent Witness intends to draw attention to these cases so we can find out who is responsible for these terrible crimes,” the sergeant said. Bauer said.

Meanwhile, according to Frank, they are grateful for the detective work being done on David’s case and the continued support of the community, and the winding road to justice is just the beginning of David’s legacy.

“The people who supported us were amazing. Community, we really need your support, we need to get this guy involved.”

The reward for information leading to an arrest is now $5,000. Call the Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
