The woman’s body was recovered from Kissimmee Lake, according to the sheriff’s office.

COUNTY COUNTY, Florida. — MPs said the body of a woman was found in Lake Kissimmee Wednesday night who may be the same person who went missing a day earlier.

Along with a team of divers from the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, deputies said they reached out to Springlake Village to find a drowned woman in her 60s and 70s.

Oseola County Sheriff Marcos Lopez told News 6 that it appears to be a case related to cognitive dysfunction such as Alzheimer’s or dementia.

“We believe that she had some kind of disease, but she was definitely not diagnosed, it was probably the initial stage,” Lopez said.

He said the woman was also possibly the same person who went missing the day before from loved ones in the same area.

Lopez said MPs received a call Tuesday from witnesses who said they saw a man walking into a sump. He added that one person tried to save the woman, but was unsuccessful.

The divers got to work that night and continued their search Wednesday morning, before a night dive team from the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, who specializes in night diving, was called in due to poor visibility, the sheriff said.
