Popular Nashville-style hot chicken chain, The Red Chickz, is setting its sights on an aggressive expansion plan that will see the establishment of multiple locations opening up in San Diego. The chain, which was founded in 2018 by an Iranian immigrant, Shawn Lalehzarian, has already earned an impressive social media following, including over one million followers on TikTok.

After announcing their franchising plan in 2021, the company has since signed up to 18 units to open in the coming year, with more than a dozen deals in the pipeline in densely-populated areas in California and Houston, Texas. The Red Chickz is now actively looking for spaces to open in San Diego, having recently secured a lease for its first area location at The Shoppes at Carlsbad, taking over the space that once housed Pluck U.

The company is expected to open at least three outlets in San Diego under the leadership of franchisee Mattie Shlemon. Like other Nashville hot chicken chains, customers can expect a menu of fried chicken tenders and sandwiches at varying spice levels, as well as fried shrimp, tacos, bone-in chicken and waffles, chicken & French Toast, and even vegetarian dishes with cauliflower.
