The medical examiner’s office identifies the victim found in the Grande Prairie field as Kayla Kelly.

GRAND PRAIRIE (CBSDFW.COM) – The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim, found in a Grande Prairie field on Jan. 18, as Kayla Kelly.

In addition to being kidnapped, Ocastore Ferguson, 32, now faces arson charges in connection with her case.

Police named Ferguson as a person of interest in the disappearance of 33-year-old Kelly. They claim that he and McKinney’s Kelly dated. According to the arrest report, Ferguson lied to Kelly about his marital status when they met online.

Additionally, the report states that Kelly found out that Ferguson was married after they started dating. According to the document, she told him that she was going to reveal the truth to his wife.

Last Wednesday, January 11, Kelly’s colleagues and friends reported her missing. The next day, her car was found burnt out in a remote part of Frisco.

A week later, Collin County investigators searched Ferguson’s car and found duct tape, gloves, and a blanket. Subsequently, he was charged with kidnapping.

A new arson charge was filed January 19 after investigators found the remains of a woman in a field near the southeast corner of 360 and I-20 in Grande Prairie. She was found a week after Kelly was declared missing. The field is less than a mile from Ferguson’s home in Grande Prairie. According to investigators, he lives there with his wife.

“While we desperately hoped for a different outcome, I am grateful for the stubborn determination of my deputies and our Texas Rangers in finding Ms. Kelly,” Collin County Sheriff Jim Skinner said in a press release.

Investigators also told CBS 11 that they traced Ferguson’s cell phone signals at the time Kelly went missing. Presumably, he pinged near the place where Kelly was found.

Ferguson could now face another charge of capital murder. He remains in the Collin County Detention Center.
