The MDPD has arrested a suspect who stole a dump truck, ran over a jumping passenger and hit a police vehicle in northwest Miami-Dade.

NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, FL. (WSVN) – A suspect who hijacked a dump truck from a construction site, hit a woman who jumped out of the truck, and a police vehicle has been taken into custody.

Miami-Dade police detained a suspect near 57th Street and 15th Avenue NW on Monday afternoon.

According to police, the suspect stole a dump truck from a Wynwood construction site.

The owner of this truck was on the phone with a friend complaining about the theft when this friend spotted the truck and followed it before calling the police.

The police took over the pursuit and the woman in the passenger seat of the stolen car jumped out during the chase. She was cut off by a stolen truck.

7Skyforce hovered over the place where the victim was placed on a gurney.

She was taken to a local hospital from NW 58th Street and 19th Avenue.

The suspect was also taken to the hospital.

The condition of the suspect and the woman remains unknown.
