The first day of the weather warning was issued on Sunday: Severe storms are possible across much of North Texas.

NORTH TEXAS (CBSNewsTexas.com) “Today was our day of transition – temperatures dropped into the 50s for most of us, with cloudy skies and northerly winds keeping many of us in the 40s on Friday.

Showers are possible, so on Friday dress warmly and don’t get wet! Temperatures will start to rise again this weekend and by Sunday we will be around 80 degrees, but then there will be a chance for severe storms.

We still have a few more days, but late Sunday’s severe weather threat is spreading to North Texas, which is why CBS News Texas meteorologists have issued a First Day Weather Warning.

The time for this will be after dark – we hope that most of them get a good night’s sleep. Dynamics look better in Oklahoma, but as the front advances, we will have storms all over North Texas and they can be strong/severe.

We will update the details as we get closer to the event. But for now, strong/violent storms are possible on Sunday night. By dawn on Monday we have to clean up, and on the whole Monday will be a pleasant day.
