The DJ describes the chaos at the wedding reception as the hall owner waves a gun at the guests; 2 charged

SOUTHWEST RANCH, Florida. (WSVN) — A wedding DJ has revealed new details about tense moments at a reception at Southwest Ranches, when the hall owner demanded that guests leave while brandishing a gun, landing him and another man behind bars.

Miguel Rodriguez Albizu and Christian Sergio Rafart appeared in Broward County bond court on Saturday morning.

The presiding judge was having trouble pronouncing the name of another suspect.

“Miguel Rodriguez Albuchi? I’m sure I’m ruining his name,” he said.

The suspects are facing a list of charges. Rodriguez Albiz faces nine counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Both men listed their address as Cielo Farms, located along the 4600 block of Volunteer Road.

Speaking to 7News on Sunday, Jonathan Campo said he was the DJ at a reception held at Cielo Farms Thursday night.

Campo said that he started playing the last song at 10:54 pm and it will be over by 11 o’clock.

The DJ said the worker demanded the music be turned off for fear of noise complaints, lashed out at him three times and spilled a drink on his audio equipment, even though he had turned the music off.

“By this time, the entire wedding company knows what’s going on,” Campo said. “My honest point is, because I’ve done so many weddings, I think you should be aware of how your employees are handling the situation, because it’s not a good representation for the business.”

Moments later, Campo said, a man in a yellow shirt entered the venue and pulled a gun from a brown bag, an image the DJ can’t get out of his head.

“Why am I preparing to be shot? All I did was DJ at my cousin’s wedding and try to give her her last dance,” he said.

Campo said he pulled his son out and started filming a man with a gun.

“Go away, go away. Don’t make me… Get out! Get out! Get out!” the man can be heard speaking in the video.

“He just started waving the gun everywhere, at everyone, pointed it at my uncle’s face, pointed it at my cousin who got married, the bride, pointed it at her head, waved it at her husband’s head,” Campo said.

Campo’s video shows a woman screaming as she walks by. Later, someone tried to restrain the man in the yellow shirt before he broke free and approached the cell. It looks like he’s holding a gun.

“OK, give me the purse,” the woman in the video says.

“Get out! Get out!” replied the man in the yellow shirt.

Davie police said they responded to reports of unrest at the scene around 11:00 p.m. and made two arrests.

As for Campo, he said it was a traumatic experience.

“It just went from an amazing event that you will remember for the rest of your life to an event that you will actually remember for the rest of your life for the wrong reasons,” he said.

7News contacted the owners of the Cielo Farms nursery. They said they were more than happy to share what they said happened once they had consulted with their lawyer.

Rodriguez Albizu has been released from prison. As of late Sunday evening, Rafart remains in prison.
