The deadline for nominees for the 2023 Jamaican National Civic Awards and Awards is March 31st.

SOUTH FLORIDA – The deadline for applications for the 2023 Jamaican National Awards and Prizes is March 31, 2023. Nomination forms and instructions are available online through the Office of the Orders of the Honorable Societies, Office of the Prime Minister (www.opm.gov.jm) or through overseas branches of Jamaican foreign missions.

As the deadline approaches, people are reminded that completed nomination forms can be emailed ([email protected]), or by mail to the Office of the Orders of the Honorable Societies, Prime Minister’s Office, 1 Devon Road, Kingston 10, Jamaica.

Nomination forms, once submitted, remain confidential and must be accompanied by a current and short biographical description of the nominee’s accomplishments. In cases where a candidate is not a Jamaican citizen, the Government of Jamaica must obtain the approval of the relevant Commonwealth or foreign government prior to awarding any order to that candidate.

Jamaican National Civil Honors and HonorsNational decorations and decorations are awarded by the Office of the Orders of Honor Societies under the Prime Minister’s Office under the National Decorations and Decorations Act of July 1969 to formally recognize those who have contributed to their service and have gained significant and significant influence in national life.

Orders are used to recognize merit related to achievement and service, while awards and decorations recognize nominees for bravery, meritorious long and/or valuable service, and/or good behavior. It should be noted that only; The selected persons will be contacted by the Office of the Orders of Honor Societies. All laureates will be announced on Jamaican Independence Day, 6 August 2023.

Candidates can be nominated for honorary titles and awards in the following categories:

  • Order of Merit (OM); Order of Jamaica (OJ);
  • Order of Distinction in the rank of commander (CD) or officer rank (OD).

Awards and decorations are given for the Honorable Mention for Valor (BHG), Meritorious Service (BHM), or Long and Loyal Service (BHL).
