Over $125,000 (US$19 million) to date from our fundraisers, including 42 scholarships. The foundation honors two (2) outstanding Jamaicans: RRetired Lieutenant General Vincent R. Stewart for exemplary leadership in the public sector. Plus, Dr. John-Paul Clark for “Exemplary Achievement in Aerospace Engineering, Academia and Philanthropy.”

Scholarship

The David “Waggie” Hunt Scholarship is named after the late distinguished former Kingston College (KC) student, football coach and co-founder of Meadhaven United Football Club.

He supports deserving students at Kingston College and Calabar High School, where Hunt coached.

The approximately $600,000 award covers tuition, textbooks, lunch and other school expenses for each student in grades 8 through 13.

Scholarship recipients must demonstrate commendable academic achievement and attitude, participate in extracurricular activities, and be deemed in need of financial assistance.

The Chairman said that the number of scholarships has increased in recent years and the goal is to continue to offer scholarships to deserving students of beneficiary schools.

Unmatched in his passion for youth and sports, Hunt led Calabar to the Manning and Oliver Shield Cup titles in 2005 before he died untimely in October 2007 of a heart attack.

He was the former general secretary of the Kingston and St. Andrew Football Association (KSAFA); former general secretary of the Little League Football Association; former Jamaica under-17 football coach; KC, Calabar and Meadowbrook High School’s Manning Cup Coach; and was one of Jamaica’s best-known track and field analysts.
