The average gas price in San Diego County rose by the highest amount since October 4

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – The average price of a gallon of regular self-service gasoline in San Diego County recorded its biggest increase since Friday, Oct. 4, rising 2.6 cents to $4,614, the highest level since Dec. 11.

The average price has risen 12 of the last 14 days, up 7.7 cents, including three-tenths of a cent on both Wednesday and Thursday, according to AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. This is 3 cents more than a week ago and 7.1 cents more than a month ago, but 4.2 cents less than a year ago.

The median price has fallen $1,821 since rising to a record $6,435 on Oct. 5.

“Los Angeles wholesale gas prices are almost 90 cents higher than last year’s lowest point in December, but average retail prices are up less than 20 cents,” Doug Shoop, corporate communications manager for the Automobile Club, said Thursday. The national average price fell for the sixth day in a row after a 17-day rise, falling seven tenths of a cent to $3.491. This is 1.8 cents less than a week ago, but 26.3 cents more than a month ago and 7.8 cents more than a year ago.
