Teen charged with shooting man after being caught breaking into cars in apartments near NRG: HPD

HOUSTON Charges have been filed against a suspect who shot a man after he was caught breaking into several cars near an NRG park last November, according to Houston police.

Zurian Stephon Lewis, 17, is charged with the murder of 36-year-old Arne Richardson.

On November 17, 2022, HPD employees responded to reports of a shooting at an apartment complex in the 9900 block of the Buffalo Freeway around 11 a.m.

They arrived and found Richardson dead at the scene.

Detectives learned that Richardson and his girlfriend collided with Lewis along with two other men who crashed into several cars in the parking lot.

Richardson’s car was among those robbed, police said, and some of his girlfriend’s possessions were also stolen.

As Richardson ran after the suspects, police said that Lewis drew a pistol and began firing, hitting Richardson several times. His girlfriend was not hurt.

Surveillance photos taken by the police On November 18, Lewis was wearing a light green jacket and gray trousers. He was arrested and charged on Thursday.

Police are still looking for two other men wanted for questioning.
