Taco Cabana robbed, APD looking for armed suspect

The Austin Police Department is asking the public for help in identifying a man suspected of robbing a Taco Cabana restaurant in North Austin at gunpoint.

On January 26, just after 9:30 pm, the suspect entered the business and ordered food from a restaurant at 8415 Research Boulevard. When the employee opened the cash register, he pulled out a gun and stole the money.

The suspect is described as a dark-skinned man, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a slight build. He was last seen wearing a black mask, black gloves, black sweater, black pants and black shoes.

APD reports that robbery detectives are actively working on the case and they have several investigative leads.

APD urges all citizens and business owners to remain vigilant and always aware of what is around them. Anyone with any information should contact the APD Heist Department at 512-974-5092.
