Several swastikas and an image of Adolf Hitler were recently found on a white board on the door of a Jewish student’s dorm at Stanford University, school officials said.

The student found the drawings on Friday morning, which was subsequently reported to both the Stanford Department of Public Safety and the university’s Protected Identity Harm Reporting process.

Stanford public safety officers are currently investigating the drawings as a hate crime. According to the university, the person or people who made the drawings could be subject to legal or disciplinary action.

“Deliberately intimidating and threatening individuals based on protected identities is contrary to Stanford’s values,” the university said in a statement Friday. “Anti-Semitism and other acts of hate and intolerance are unacceptable on this campus.”

Stanford officials did not respond to a request for comment Monday for updates to the investigation into the drawings.

The university also said the drawings found Friday on a dorm room door appear unrelated to two incidents on February 28 and March 3, in which several swastikas, a racial slur and the letters “KKK” were found carved on several men. bathrooms on campus.

A meeting is expected to be held at the dorm where the drawings were found on Tuesday to discuss the incident.

Those with information about the drawings are encouraged to contact the Stanford Department of Public Safety at (650) 329-2413.

Students who experience acts of bias or discrimination are also encouraged to report them using the Protected Identity Harm Report process, available at
