Suspect sought after shots fired at undercover officers, says SAPD

San Antonio Police reported that two suspects have been taken into custody and one is still on the run after three people opened fire on undercover officers on Monday evening on the east side of town. The incident occurred around 7 p.m. at the 1900 block of Nolan Street.

Detectives dressed in plain clothes discovered a suspicious vehicle and began to follow the suspects. During this time, they observed the suspects shoot at a building and then proceeded to stop and shoot at the undercover officers.

According to authorities, three people were in the vehicle and began to open fire on the officers, hitting their unmarked vehicle before fleeing the scene. Thanks to a video provided by a KENS 5 viewer located in a nearby home on Polaris, gunshots could be heard.

Patrol officers arrived on the scene and were able to apprehend two of the suspects. Police say that special operations is currently on the site searching for the third suspect who is considered armed and dangerous.

None of the officers were injured during the incident, and they did not return fire at the suspects.
