Survivor of Seminole County shootout that killed 1 and injured 5 shared his story

TALLAHASSEE, Florida. — One of the victims of the fatal shooting near Sanford on Monday shares his story.

Sherina Williams was one of 6 people who were shot dead around 2:20 am near Rinehart Road and 46A County Road near Sanford.

“Everyone was just laughing, having fun, dancing in the sprint van,” Williams said in an interview with WCTV, the CBS affiliate in Tallahassee. “The next thing I remember, we just heard a whole bunch of gunshots and they just didn’t stop.”

Princess Tolliver, 31, was killed in the shootout. Investigators have yet to say what led to the shooting, saying only that it did not appear to be a random attack.

“I got shot right here in the shoulder, right here, and I didn’t know. I was wearing a denim jacket and I remember feeling something warm,” Williams said.

A friend of Williams and Tolliver also spoke to WCTV, recalling the moment she found out her friend had died.

“I just lost it. At this point, everything just turned black. You know, I didn’t ask who, what, when, where, why. I was just trying to digest what I just heard,” Shinae Ham said.

The sheriff’s office announced that detectives were investigating the shooting, and a car believed to be involved in the shooting was discovered early Monday morning.

MPs said Tuesday they are working to find out if there is any connection to the event at The Barn in Sanford on Sunday night.

So far, no arrests have been made.
