SpaceX to send communications satellite into the sky with Falcon 9 late night launch from Cape

CAPE CANAVERAL, Florida. – SpaceX will be active late Friday for 1.5 hours to put a communications satellite into orbit with a Falcon 9 rocket launch from Cape Canaveral.

The Inmarsat-6 F2 mission, which will be conducted on behalf of London-based communications satellite operator Inmarsat, will attempt to take off from Space Launch Complex 40 during the launch, which is open from 10:59 pm Friday to 00:28 Saturday. at SpaceX.

Weather conditions on launch day were assessed with a 65% chance of being favourable, as meteorologists said on Thursday morning that a cold front expected at the Cape by Friday evening could bring intermittent rain. In case of a delay of 24 hours, the probability of favorable weather conditions increases to 90%.

B1077 – the booster that will be used on the mission – will make its third flight and should land upright on the “Just Read the Instructions” autonomous drone ship.

The Inmarsat F2 satellite heading into orbit is a sixth-generation geostationary communications device built by Airbus, Next Spaceflight reports.
