Juan Santos Huerta, a 52-year-old man from Elmendorf, Texas, is facing charges of healthcare fraud, a felony offense. The charges stem from an alarming discovery that Huerta was working on the road instead of caring for his elderly mother, who tragically passed away due to his neglect. Huerta admitted to a Bexar County Sheriff’s Office officer that he used tokens to falsely report hours of caregiving for his mother while actually working on the road. As a result of these shocking revelations, Juan Santos Huerta has been charged with healthcare fraud, a third-degree felony. He has been taken into custody and is currently held at Bexar County Jail on a bond set at $15,000.
