‘Somebody I Used To Know’ Stars, Director Dave Franco Talks About Relationship Drama

If you have moved, it can sometimes be difficult to return home, especially if you don’t remember your old address. It can make you doubt everything – or possibly destroy your marriage. Well, in the new film starring Alison Brie, it is quite possible.

For details, we turn to Alex Miranda, who, we are sure, did not destroy a single house.

Just my own, so we’re fine there.

In the new drama “Someone I Used to Know,” a TV producer reconnects with his ex. The problem is that he is someone else’s current.

“Someone I knew.”

Gauthier (sings): “Now you’re just the one I used to know.”

No, not that Gauthier song. I’m talking about the new movie, a drama starring Alison Brie, directed by real-life husband Dave Franco.

Jay Ellis (as Sean): “What are you doing here?”

Alison Brie (as Ellie): “You know, I just visit my old places in case I meet an ex from 10 years ago.”

Workaholic TV producer Ellie faces a major professional setback that forces her to flee to her cozy hometown…and a stormy evening with her first love, Sean, played by the not-so-like Jay Ellis.

Jay Ellis: “I don’t know what it’s like to be in one place and call that place home for so long and have all these familiar places and know everyone in town, so it’s fun for me to, like, explore.”

Where Ellie begins to doubt everything.

Dave Franco: “Just like all that feeling of coming home and reconnecting with your roots and sort of confronting who you used to be versus who you are now and how you feel about it, it just permeated the story.”

Yes, but at the cost of… uh, I don’t know, the woman Sean is marrying?

Dave Franco: “At first glance, this character makes some questionable decisions, but it all comes from a very human attitude. She feels lost. She’s going through an existential crisis and truly believes this guy can be the solution to her problems.”

Let’s see what Kiersey Clemons, who plays Sean’s fiancée, Cassidy, has to say about this.

Kiersey Clemons: “I would immediately think, literally ask:“ Who is this? [expletive] you think you are? You better get [expletive] from my mother-in-law’s house. I never want to see you again.”

As she should. Now Alison and Dave have written a film together and used real journalists…

Alison: “Well, Peter, no, I’m just kidding.”

As an inspiration for her dirty nature.

Alison Brie: “Dave and I have a friend who works in the field of documentaries, and we learned his opinion about certain tactics that he uses.”

Everyone, it’s really a trick. When you just stop talking, the other person will probably feel the need to fill that void… and then you’ll get the best.

Alison Brie: “Absolutely. I’ve been on the other end countless times and had to remind myself because I’m such a talker. Some things can be kept close to the vest; It’s hard for me.”

Maybe Dave will do it for his future career?

Dave Franco: “I don’t think I’d like to host a talk show, but I want to be in a position where I talk to people and just find out about people I admire.”
