Sneaky Hilaria Baldwin tricks a crowd outside a New York house so Alec can escape after Rust’s accusations
It was Baldwin and the switch.
Hilaria Baldwin seemed poised to come forward Friday morning on charges leveled against her husband Alec Baldwin for his part in the fatal Rust shooting, but instead slyly coaxed the reporters out of their home so the armed star could slip away.
Hilaria walked out of their Greenwich Village home with their newborn and told the crowd of reporters outside that she had a statement and gather around her because she “was only going to say it once.”
As she spoke, Alec quickly ran away. The actor slipped out the side door and got into the van, which was slowing down for him on their street, which was conveniently barricaded to all other vehicles.
“I will only say this once. I’m going to tell you what I want to say. I want you guys to understand that we have seven children,” Hilaria began.
“Are you here [when I have to] accompanying them to school and when they come home is not good. On a human level, you know that I won’t tell you anything. You know what. So please leave my family alone. And let it all play out. GOOD?”
The mother of seven, who often shares news about her children and family on social media, has tried to blame the public for their interest in the allegations against her husband.
“So let my kids come home and you stay away from them,” she said. “Because they ask me, ‘Mom, what are these people doing?’ And it is very difficult for mom to try to explain. So please go home.”
Hilaria ended her false statement with “I won’t say anything and Alec won’t say anything.”
After she completed her bait and switch statement, the yoga instructor, who faced scrutiny for allegedly feigning her Spanish accent and origins, could be seen heading back inside and high-fiveing the doorman with a big smile on her face.
New Mexico prosecutors announced a manslaughter charge against the 64-year-old actor Thursday for his part in the shooting that killed cinematographer Galina Hutchins.
“I will only say this once. I’m going to tell you what I want to say. I want you guys to understand that we have seven children,” Hilaria began.
“Are you here [when I have to] accompanying them to school and when they come home is not good. On a human level, you guys understand that I won’t tell you anything…,” Hilaria Baldwin told the media.

She later said, “Please leave my family alone. And let it all play out. GOOD?”

The same charge was filed against the film’s gunsmith Hannah Gutierrez-Reid after Alec fired a real bullet from a rifle on the set of the film in October 2021.
Assistant director David Halls, who gave the actor a loaded gun, accepted the misdemeanor charge as part of a plea deal.
“If even one of these three people – Alec Baldwin, Hannah Gutierrez-Reid or David Halls – had done their job, Halina Hutchins would be alive today. It’s that simple,” Special Prosecutor Andrea Reeb said.
If found guilty, the disgraced actor could spend five years behind bars, but promised he would fight the charges.
