Shooter dressed in Hasidic disguise during NYC 2021 murder arrested: cops

Police said Thursday that the suspect, who was wearing Hasidic-style clothing when he shot dead a man in an ambush caught on camera in 2021 in Queens, has been arrested.

Ron Reeder, 52, was arrested in New Jersey late last month and extradited to New York on Thursday, where police said he was charged with murder and possession of a weapon.

A rider from Teaneck, New Jersey, allegedly shot and killed 46-year-old Jermaine Dixon at point-blank range on South Conduit Avenue near 132nd Street in South Ozone Park on the morning of September 6, 2021.

The thug, disguised as apparently religious attire, tried to escape with $10,000 in Dixon’s pocket but ran away before he could grab the cash, law enforcement sources at the time said.

Sources said a second person was also on duty and the couple waited several hours for Dixon to come to his car before ambushing him.

According to New Jersey officials, Reeder was arrested on February 23 when the Bergen County Regional SWAT team and the NYPD broke into his Teaneck Road apartment.

He also faces gun possession, drug possession, identity theft and financial charges in a separate criminal case in Garden State.

It was not immediately clear whether the police were still looking for a second perpetrator.

Dixon, from Georgia, was killed shortly after he was released from prison after being convicted of drug use.
