Shiro of Japan restaurant at Carle Place will finally close on February 4th

Renowned Japanese grill restaurant hibachi Shiro of Japan in Carle Place – the oldest such establishment on Long Island – has unfortunately announced that they will be closing their doors for good on February 4th.
The diner, located at 401 Old Country Road, said the reason for the upcoming closure is that their landlord decided not to renew the lease.
According to them, moving to a new location after all these years is not possible, as it is “economically unprofitable.”
After they close their doors, Shiro will still be taking catering orders for private and corporate events.
