Sheriff says teen arrested for killing Galena Park HS student

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas. On Friday, a 17-year-old teenager was arrested in connection with the murder of a student at Galena Park High School. Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.

Gonzalez said investigators arrested 17-year-old Johnny Lewis for robbery and murder while shooting 17-year-old Marcos Horta.

Horta was shot and killed multiple times Thursday at a community center near Galena Park High School, where the teenager attended, according to the sheriff’s office.

Horta was taken to a district hospital, where he died, authorities said.

According to investigators, Orta was approached by two men, one of whom shot him. They added that the shooting may be drug related.

The men left in a silver sedan, possibly a Toyota Camry.

Gonzalez said investigators are still looking for a second suspect.
