Sharp video shows Cross Street shooter killing New York teenager in broad daylight

Police are looking for a black-clad man with a black mask who was seen on camera a day ago gunning down a 17-year-old on a sidewalk in Brooklyn in broad daylight by shooting him in the chest, authorities say.

The NYPD identified the victim of the 5:00 p.m. shooting Wednesday as Greig Bassett. Bassett lived less than a mile from the scene in Saratoga where he was shot dead. He was declared dead in the hospital.

There was no word on whether the two might have known each other or what triggered the shooting.

Police released shocking footage of the shooting. It shows the shooter crossing the street, weaving between cars until he is on the sidewalk. He looks at someone, pulls out a gun, aims and shoots – then runs away.

Anyone with information about the shooter is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
