UPDATE: BART reopened Daly City and Colma stations.

According to ABC 7, a San Francisco mine-clearing squad robot is inspecting a truck near a BART station in Daly City that may have leaking gas tanks.

ABC 7 reporter Ryan Curry says a public relations officer told him that a canister had fallen into the truck, which could be leaking butane or propane.

BART stations around Daly City were closed and evacuated due to a “possible dangerous situation”.

A San Francisco city truck is believed to have been transporting hazardous materials following an explosion and fire in the Sunset area on Thursday.

On Friday morning, gas cylinders and other equipment were pulled out from under the rubble of the burnt house.

“Investigators recovered items from the scene of a fire that occurred Thursday in the 1700 block of 22nd Street. While transporting these items, the drivers stopped in Daly City,” an SFPD spokesman said.

The SFPD was then assisted in this incident by specially trained officers from the Daly City Fire Department, Daly City Police, Northern District Fire Department and Hazmat 14.
