Severity of Border Crisis Revealed in House Oversight Committee Hearing

SAN DIEGO (CUSI) — During a House Oversight Committee hearing titled “On the Front Line of the Border Crisis: A Hearing with Chief Patrol Agents,” Border Patrol agents spoke about the crisis at the border.

In 2022, 700 pounds of fentanyl were confiscated both at the border and in the field. That’s enough to kill half the country.

The agents said the cartels were seeking to overwhelm the resources of the Border Patrol while smuggling many people and drugs across the border.

The House of Representatives later released a press article stating:

The Biden administration provoked the worst border crisis in American history and endangered the lives of U.S. Border Patrol agents by reversing containment-focused immigration policies and border control tools.

Rafer Weigel from KUSI went on air on the border with others.
