Severe weather possible in Central Florida to start weekend

ORLANDO, Florida. – It is important to note that Saturday will not be a failure, but it is worth being aware of the weather. Severe weather is possible on Saturday afternoon and early evening, and it will be cold and windy on Sunday.

After the downpours subside on Saturday, expect to be dry for much of the late morning and early afternoon. It will be stuffy, there are more clouds than the sun. Highs are reached in the upper 70s and below the 80s on Saturday afternoon.

After lunch, or rather after 13-14 hours, individual thunderstorms begin to flare up. Some of them may be strong.

Severe weather, including one or two short tornadoes, will be most likely in Marion, Flager, and the northernmost counties of Volusia and Lake. This threat extends north towards the Georgia border.

The reason for this is the lack of fuel to sustain the thunderstorm. However, there is plenty of wind power to play with, and if any storm can be weathered, they can take advantage of favorable conditions for severe weather.

These areas are closer to the center of low pressure and can better compensate for the lack of some environmental components.

After another dry period, the chance of rain and storm increases again late Saturday evening and early Sunday morning. As the storm recedes, colder air will descend on the peninsula on Sunday.
