Seacliff State Beach to demolish pier after hurricane

Seacliff, Calif. (KION-TV) — Seacliff State Beach said winter storms have caused significant damage to the beach and efforts to address public safety concerns will begin Friday.

This includes the demolition of the pier. The greatest damage was done to the pier, the campground and the dam.

The pier was deemed to be in a state of imminent collapse and should be removed immediately, the California Department of Parks and Recreation said.

There will be a beach cleanup on Saturday and community members will be able to say goodbye to the pier.

Dangerous litter on the campsite will be removed this month
