Sea Tavern floats in San Diego North Park

January 18, 2023

Sea Tavern, an East Coast-inspired seafood restaurant and craft beer bar, opens this week at the site that last housed the Endzone pub in San Diego’s North Park.

Sea Tavern, pioneered by restaurateur David Hahn, is an East Coast-inspired seafood restaurant and brasserie with cuisine led by former Clique Hospitality (Lionfish at Pendry, Bull & Bourbon at Sycuan Casino) chef Chris Kasinger. The project consultant is Derek “DJ” Mull, who is known for reinventing the La Mesa Riviera Supper Club at the start of the pandemic in 2020.

The Sea Tavern has been decked out with artwork from local tattoo artist Terry Ribera, including a 40-foot mural and an Instagram wall with a neon crab sign. The restaurant will offer a rotating menu of reimagined seafood staples, including egg rolls with lobster and shrimp; Fritto Misto with fried squid, shrimp and shellfish; Lobster Roll Roll with Maine Lobster, Old Bay Mayonnaise, Crispy Onion and Lemon; and Surf & Turf “Double Double” with Wagyu beef mix patty, crab croquettes, onion jam, lettuce, tomato, mozzarella, cheddar and a special sauce. All sandwiches will be served on Japanese Dairy Bread by Hokkaido Hokkaido Hokkaido Chef North San Diego Chef William Eick. At the bar, expect 24 spinning pens filled with craft beer, seltzer, kombucha and cider, as well as wine in glasses and bottles.

The Sea Tavern will open at 2859 University Avenue in San Diego North Park on Thursday, January 19 at 2:00 pm. For more information, visit Seatavern.com.
