SCPD: Two people died in a car accident in West Babylon

Squad 1 Suffolk County Police detectives investigate a car accident that killed two people in West Babylon.
Frank Motta, 63, of Babylon, was driving a 2005 Chevrolet eastbound on the western lanes of Highway 109 near Platt Avenue when his car collided with a 2021 BMW X3 westbound.
Motta was pronounced dead at the scene.
BMW passenger Fernando Gonçalves, 79, from West Babylon, was taken to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip, where he was pronounced dead.
The BMW driver, 49-year-old Ana-Paula Gonçalves-Kalinovski of Centereach, was taken to Good Samaritan University Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The vehicles were confiscated for security checks. Detectives are asking anyone with information about the crash to contact First Squad at 631-854-8152.
