San Antonio woman discusses carjacking that sparked police chase: “They could have shot me”.

A terrifying ordeal unfolded for a San Antonio woman early Monday morning when she was robbed at gunpoint outside her home, and her car was stolen by four men. The chase that ensued ended in a bloody crash causing the car to erupt into flames near Castroville. Thanks to the quick and efficient work of officers, the suspects were eventually caught.

Cheyenne, the 24-year-old victim of the robbery, shared details of the harrowing moments she experienced with KENS 5, recounting how she heard a tap on her car’s window while parked in her driveway. As she looked over, a man with a gun in a mask was pointing the weapon directly at her. She recalled how he yanked her shirt and shouted at her to get out of the car.

She further added that one of the robbers got in the passenger seat, and another one in the back seat, and with that, they took off, leaving Cheyenne without her car. It was after the carjacking that the police noticed the stolen vehicle and chased it at high speeds, reaching up to 100 mph.

The end of the chase was tragic and disastrous as the car crashed into the woods near Highway 90 and Castroville Road. The robbers made a run for it into the woods, but they were eventually caught with the help of a helicopter and a K-9 unit.

Thankful to be unharmed, Cheyenne commented that she could not have expected that her car would have ended in flames. She further added that the robbers could have shot or kidnapped her.

San Antonio Police Department’s officers were given permission to chase the robbers as the crime amounted to an aggravated robbery, and three of the suspects were juveniles while the fourth was 17 years old.
