San Antonio and Hill Country Schools Experience Closures and Delays

The current status of school districts in the San Antonio area and across South Texas is being affected by the winter storm that has swept through the region in the past few days. As a result, several school districts have made changes to their regular schedules. It is important to note that this list may not be exhaustive, and individuals are advised to check with their respective districts if they do not see it included.

Alamo Heights ISD will have class on time with no delay on Tuesday, January 16. The Alamo Colleges District, Bandera ISD, Blanco ISD, and Boerne ISD will also follow their regular schedules, but all outdoor activities will be suspended. Brackett ISD, Center Point ISD, and Comal ISD will have a delayed start of two hours on Tuesday, January 16 and Wednesday, January 17. Similarly, Comfort ISD will also have a delayed start of two hours on these days. Crystal City ISD, D’Hanis ISD, Devine ISD, and Divide ISD will proceed with their normal schedules, as will Dripping Springs ISD and East Central ISD. Edgewood ISD and Floresville ISD will follow their regular schedules but will not have any outdoor activities.

Fort Sam Houston ISD, Fredericksburg ISD, and George Gervin Academy have not announced any changes to their schedules. However, Goliad ISD will be closed on Tuesday, January 16. Gonzales ISD, Great Hearts Texas, Hallettsville ISD, and Hallmark University will proceed with their regular schedules. Harlandale ISD has moved all basketball games scheduled for January 16 to January 17. Harper ISD, Hays CISD, Hunt ISD, and Hondo ISD will also follow their regular schedules.

IDEA Public Schools, Ingram ISD, Johnson City ISD, and Jubilee Academies have not announced any changes to their schedules. Judson ISD, on the other hand, will have school as scheduled on Tuesday, January 16, but all outdoor activities will be rescheduled or canceled. Karnes City ISD will have a two-hour delay with a 10 a.m. start, while Kenedy ISD and Kerrville ISD will follow their regular schedules. Keystone School, KIPP Texas-San Antonio Schools, and Knippa ISD have not announced any changes to their schedules.

La Pryor ISD, La Vernia ISD, and Lackland ISD will follow their regular schedules. Leakey ISD will have a two-hour delay on Monday, January 15. Lighthouse Public Schools, Luling ISD, Lytle ISD, and Marion ISD will have their regular schedules, as will Medina ISD and Medina Valley ISD. Natalia ISD, Navarro ISD, and New Braunfels ISD will also proceed with their regular schedules. Nordheim ISD will be closed on Monday, January 15, while Northeast ISD will have class on time with no delay on Tuesday, January 16. Northside ISD schools and offices will be open and resume a normal schedule on Tuesday, January 16. There will be no outdoor UIL or extracurricular activities in the afternoon/evening, and all bus routes will operate on their regular schedule.

Nueces Canyon CISD will have a two-hour delay on Monday, January 15, while Pearsall ISD and Positive Solutions Charter High School will follow their regular schedules. Pre-K for SA, Randolph Field ISD, and Rocksprings ISD will have a two-hour delay on Monday, January 15. Runge ISD and Sabinal ISD will also have a two-hour delay on Monday, January 15. San Antonio Academy will have a delayed start of 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 16, with regular drop-off beginning at 8 a.m. Supervision will be available in the gym starting at 7:30 a.m. for those who need to drop off their sons earlier. San Antonio ISD will have class on time with no delay on Tuesday, January 16, while San Marcos CISD will be closed on January 16. Schertz Cibolo Universal City ISD, Schreiner University, and Seguin ISD will follow their regular schedules. Somerset ISD, South San Antonio ISD, and Southside ISD will also proceed with their regular schedules. Southwest ISD and Stockdale ISD will have normal schedules, as will Sunshine Cottage School for Deaf Children and The Arc of San Antonio.

Texas A&M-San Antonio, Texas State University, and Three Rivers ISD will be closed on Tuesday, January 16. Trinity University, UIW, and Utopia ISD will have a two-hour delay on Monday, January 15. UTSA, Uvalde CISD, and Wimberly ISD have not announced any changes to their schedules.
