Salvation Army’s Angel Tree initiative gifts over 2,500 kids in Palm Beach County

The Salvation Army of Palm Beach County has successfully concluded its Angel Tree program, which provided gifts to over 2,500 children and raised more than $300,000 in in-kind gifts from local retail partners. This holiday season collection has been described as one of the largest in recent memory, according to a news release. Distribution efforts took place in Boca Raton, Belle Glade, and West Palm Beach, where dedicated volunteers and staff members packed and distributed gifts into cars. Larger items, such as bicycles and scooters, were wheeled out to families in need.

Throughout the county, including at Walmart, bell ringers were present to collect donations. Major Leisa Hall, the area commander of the Salvation Army, expressed gratitude toward Walmart for their ongoing partnership in providing hope for vulnerable populations. Major Hall also extended her appreciation to trusted local partners who helped distribute Christmas gifts to families impacted by the recent economic downturn. The incredible support from these partners, their employees, and customers ensured that children in the community received gifts this Christmas.

The Salvation Army of Palm Beach County has a long-standing history of assisting individuals and families in overcoming poverty, addiction, and economic hardships since its establishment in 1922. Their impactful work includes providing 112,020 meals, 33,790 nights of lodging, and 10,463 individuals benefiting from social services. Additionally, the Angel Tree program has distributed 5,759 toys to children in need. The organization continues to accept donations to further support their efforts in Palm Beach County.
