Saint Lucia introduces online pick-up/drop-off form

CASTRIES, Saint Lucia – Starting March 1, 2023, the process of entering Saint Lucia will become even more seamless with the introduction of an online pick-up/drop-off (ED) form that allows for electronic processing of travelers.

Online form for pick up/drop off in Saint Lucia

The implementation of the online ED form is carried out by the Commission of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) and funded through the 11th European Development Fund. It is also in line with the digital transformation initiatives of the Saint Lucia government public sector servicesfor continuous improvement of the island’s operational competencies and ease of doing business.

The electronic ED will replace the written form by providing real-time information to immigration, customs and port health authorities and will significantly reduce the processing time for arriving passengers. The system has been extensively tested at George F.L. Charles Airport (SLU) and at Hewanorra International Airport (UVF) with exceptionally positive feedback from the implementing agencies.

Completion online form of ED applies to air travel only and is not a landing requirement; however, passengers must apply prior to arrival in Saint Lucia for fast clearance upon arrival. If the electronic form is not completed by the time the passenger arrives in Saint Lucia, a written form provided by the airline or country will be required.

A simple four-step process requires travelers to

1. Visit stlucia.org/entry
2. Complete and submit the convenient ED form.
3. Receive the QR code via email.
4. Present the QR code (one device such as phone, laptop, tablet, etc. or printed copy) and travel document (passport) to officials upon arrival.

“We are constantly striving to secure our borders and provide quality services to travelers at points of entry, while keeping our citizens, visitors and business partners safe with a robust immigration system. In order to promote our seamless entry process, the written form will be retired as of April 12, 2023.” Sean Alexander, Assistant Superintendent of the Department of Immigration noted.

Implementation and technical support of the electronic boarding/disembarkation process is carried out jointly by the Departments of Immigration, Border Control and Customs, Department of the Interior, Justice and Homeland Security, Department of Health, Organization of the Eastern Caribbean States (OECS), Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority, Division Premier Development Department (PMDU); and the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority (SLTA).
