Rubio: Congress will support financing of the Ukrainian strategy, but Biden does not have it, and we will not fund a stalemate

In a Fox News special on Tuesday, Senator Marco Rubio (R-R) said there is strong support in Congress for “funding the strategy” in Ukraine, but “I don’t think there is strong support for funding the impasse.” Rubio also said that the Biden administration “still hasn’t figured out what our national security interests are, what our ultimate goals are, and what we’re doing.”

Rubio stated [relevant remarks begin around 5:00] that if we live in a world “where countries can invade their neighbors, we have a long century ahead of us.”

He added: “I think there is strong support for funding the strategy. I don’t think there is strong support for impasse financing. I think there is strong support for funding the strategy. This needs to be weighed against our other priorities. I think that Ukraine still has a lot of support here. Obviously, this is their fight. We were helpful. They did a great job of fighting. But obviously there needs to be funding for the strategy… this administration still hasn’t determined what our national security interests are, what our ultimate goals are, and what we’re doing. And I think that’s really important as we keep going to Congress for more money.”
