Round Rock Residents Encouraged to Recycle Christmas Trees

The City of Round Rock is pleased to announce the upcoming Christmas tree recycling events, set to take place on Saturday, December 30, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, January 6, also from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. These events will be held at the Round Rock Brush Recycling Center, conveniently located at 310 Deepwood Drive.

During these events, residents will have the opportunity to bring their Christmas trees for recycling. In addition, small tree seedlings will be distributed to participants, with a limit of one per vehicle, while supplies last.

Furthermore, residents are encouraged to utilize the Round Rock Brush Recycling Center for their Christmas tree recycling needs on any regular operating day. It is important to note that all decorations, nails, wires, ornaments, tree stands, lights, and tinsel must be removed from the trees prior to bringing them to the recycling center.

Once collected, the trees will be shredded into a fine and usable mulch. This mulch will be made available free of charge to Round Rock residents for pickup at the recycling center. Contractors and non-residents will also have the opportunity to purchase the mulch for a nominal fee of $5 per cubic yard.

For additional information regarding the Christmas tree recycling events and the recycling center, residents can contact the City of Round Rock’s Forestry Manager, Ricci Strayhorn, at (512) 218-5540.

Please take note of the holiday hours for the Round Rock Brush Recycling Center: Friday, December 22, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, December 23, closed, Sunday, December 24, closed, Monday, December 25, closed, and Monday, January 1, closed. The regular business hours of the recycling center are Monday through Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
