Robbinsville Settles Friendly Football Pizza Bet With Upper Freehold Township

ROBBINSVILLE, NJ (MERCER)–UPPER FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP, NJ (MONMOUTH)–A friendly pizza bet placed between Robbinsville and Upper Freehold Township Mayors and committee members about an hour before a home coming game between Allentown High School and Robbinsville on September 16, 2022. It was decided that if Allentown wone the game Robbinsville would provide De Lorenzo’s Tomato Pie to the next Upper Freehold committee meeting and if Robbinsville won Upper Freehold would provide Sorella’s Trattoria pizza to Robbinsville’s committee meeting.

The game was played on September 16, 2022 with Allentown winning with a score of 35-18 resulting that Robbinsville would have to deliver on that promise at tonight’s Upper Freehold Township committee meeting.

The special delivery was made by the Robbinsville Township Police Department just before 7:00 p.m. prior to the start of the Township meeting by Sergeant Scott Kivet and Patrol Officer Rene Godfrey.

The committee members expressed interest in coming up with additional fun for next year’s game.

Mayor Dave Fried posted on Facebook tonight, “Tonight I paid our debt to Upper Freehold for beating us in football. We had a wager that whoever won the game would have pizza delivered to the Council Meeting. Thus, we had Robbinsville’s finest deliver well Robbinsville’s finest. Thank You Sam Amico and DeLorenzo’s We will get them next year for sure.”
