Robbinsville, NJ (Mercer) – After an illustrious and dedicated tenure spanning over 26 years, Police Officer Ptl. Shawn Emmons announced his retirement today. Commencing his career with the esteemed Rutgers Police Department, Emmons later seized an opportunity with then Washington Township in 1998, where he was embraced as an esteemed asset. Throughout his tenure, Emmons exceled in various roles, ranging from the Bike Unit to the esteemed Traffic Unit, culminating in a prominent stint as a K-9 Officer alongside K-9 Zilke, a partnership which lasted from 2004 to 2010. His journey in law enforcement took an exciting turn in 2020 when Emmons was appointed as the invaluable School Resource Officer at Pond Road Middle School.
