Rep. George Santos was reportedly dressed as a drag queen named “Kitara” while living in Brazil more than a decade ago as new details of the congressman’s convoluted identity continue to surface.

According to an article by reporter Marisa Cabas on the Substack site “The Handbasket”, Santos, who reportedly went by several aliases in his controversial past, appears to be in the photo wearing a 2008 drag suit.

A final glimpse into Santos’ younger years came from Cabasa Eula Roshar, a drag queen from Brazil and a former girlfriend of Santos.

According to the report, Santos and Rochard met when Rochard was already an established drag queen in a Brazilian city near Rio de Janeiro.

“I think I met him when he was about 16 or 17,” she said of Santos, who was then called Anthony. “He used to hang out at my house while his mom played bingo.”

Santos reportedly used the pseudonyms Anthony Devolder and Anthony Zabrowski.

The freshman congressman became a national highlight after he was exposed for a string of lies about his college education, work history and Jewish background, among other tall tales that keep counting.

The personal story he campaigned on was largely debunked shortly before his first term was due to begin, following a bombastic New York Times report.

The MP’s long list of lies and questionable campaign funding are being investigated by local, state and federal officials, and Brazilian prosecutors have reopened a fraud case against him since 2008.

Santos, who is the first openly gay, non-sitting Republican elected to the House of Representatives, has resisted calls to step down.

Rochard, speaking to Cabas, said she had recently seen Santos on Brazilian TV and told her friends when she knew Santos that she thought it was him. When her friends questioned her, she found an old photo and posted it on Instagram.

“The photo was taken in 2008 at the pride parade on Icarai Beach in Niteroi,” she told Kabas. “George disappeared for a while and then returned to Brazil with a lot of money and it was around the same time the picture was taken.”

According to the report, Rochard said that Santos was never a professional drag performer.

“He didn’t have what it takes to turn pro,” she said. “George didn’t have the glamor for that.”

Rochard insisted that Santos “lied about everything”.

“He used to make up stories that usually involve money, like that his father was rich,” she told Cabas. “But then people wondered why his mom was a cleaner. There is nothing wrong with being a cleaning lady, but if his father was rich, then why?
