Rapper Costa Titch dies at 28 after collapsing on stage during a music festival

Rapper Costa Titch, 28, passed away this weekend after collapsing at a music festival in Johannesburg on Saturday. Statement on Instagram his family. The cause of death was not immediately reported.

“Death has knocked tragically on our door. Taking away our beloved son, brother and grandson. Konstantinos Tsobanoglu (28), whom South Africa has come to love and idolize under his stage name “Costa Titch,” the family wrote on the rapper’s Instagram page.

Costa Titch was performing at the Nasrec Exhibition Center when he fell on stage, according to Cape Town Etc. The man rushed to the aid of the rapper, who briefly got to his feet before collapsing again.

“It is with deep pain that we are forced to acknowledge his passing at this time. We are grateful to the rescuers and everyone who was present during his last hours on this earth,” the family continued.

Organizers Ultra Music Festival in South Africa also issued a statement shortly after Costa Titch’s passing was announced, tweeting: “We are devastated by the sudden loss of beloved South African artist Costa Titch who tragically passed away this weekend. is a talented rapper, dancer, songwriter, co-writer and friend of the festival.”

The rapper was born in Nelspruit, South Africa and began his career as a backup dancer before moving on to rap music.

Costa Titch was best known for intertwining traditional South African culture with trap beats. The rapper’s most popular song was the single “Big Flexa”, which went viral on TikTok in 2021. A remix of this song was later released featuring musician Akon.
