Queens man arrested in connection with New Hyde Park shooting in Los Angeles in 2022

Squad Three reports the arrest of a Queens resident for a shooting that took place on Monday, August 1, 2022 at 9:00 pm in New Hyde Park.

Officers responded to gunshots at LA Fitness, located at 1111 Marcus Avenue, detectives said. Upon arrival, officers observed a large group of bystanders outside the location, as well as people running out of the fitness center. Officers arrived at the scene and one shell casing was found on the basketball court. There were no reports of casualties at the scene.

Defendant Oran Davis is charged with attempted murder in the 2nd degree, attempted assault in the 1st degree and two (2) counts of possession of a weapon in the 2nd degree. He was brought to trial on Friday, January 27, 2023 in First Circuit Court at 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
