Punta Gorda’s canals recover after a hurricane on the island

CHARLOTT COUNTY, Florida. During Hurricane Ian, a catastrophic dam failure occurred in the Punta Gorda canal system. After inspection, staff predicted more than six and a half miles of damage to Punta Gorda.

The list of affected residential addresses was compiled after an initial review. The channel maintainer will update the list every couple of days until all problems are fixed.
