Progress has been made as the Sunseeker Resort is due to open in October 2023.

CHARLOTT COUNTY, FLA – Tonight we receive an update on the progress of the multi-million dollar project known as the Sunseeker Resort in Charlotte County.

This is the Allegiant Travel Company’s first resort and it’s heading right here in Southwest Florida.

Hurricane Yan was heavily impacted by Hurricane Yan causing millions of dollars in damage, but the project is expected to be completed by October 2023.

Commissioners at a meeting Tuesday morning were impressed, saying it’s amazing how much progress has been made here since the devastation caused by Hurricane Yang, and there’s a lot to be expected from this project – much of it is tourism.

Sunseeker Resort president says 35,000 nights have already been booked and the resort isn’t even open yet.

The property is due to open in October 2023 and the owners are looking for workers as this will add 13 hundred jobs to our area.

Sunseeker Resort President says benefits include highly competitive market wages, health benefits and 401K.

It also added that, as this is the first Allegiant Travel Company resort, resort staff will be able to fly Allegiant free of charge to any destination Allegiant flies to.

Sean Doherty, director of tourism for Charlotte County, says the hotel will be a large meeting and conference venue that the area has never experienced on such a scale before.

“In fact, one of the best things about it for us is that it really opens the door for us to a whole new market,” says Doherty.

Over 780 rooms featuring 20 different food and drink concepts. A 25,000-square-foot restaurant hall… 8 outlets, multiple pools, and access to a golf course for those staying at the resort.

“One of the great things about the Sunseeker resort is that they really want to be part of the community, they are not trying to captivate everyone, it’s just that at the resort they have already started working with many of our industry partners, so when a visitor comes, he has other business and a comprehensive destination experience,” adds Doherty.

Destinations such as the Fisherman’s Village.

Locals and visitors also asked if there would be a casino, as many of the people involved in this project also work with Luxor, MGM, Aria and Bellagio brands to name but a few, but the answer was no, there will be no casino. , as the president of the resort said, there will be no casino at this resort.
