Police say two are being charged, including a 16-year-old, in connection with a fatal triple shooting at an apartment complex in north Houston.

HOUSTON – Two suspects, including a 16-year-old, were arrested and charged after a triple shooting in north Houston last year, according to the Houston Police Department.

Darrien James Buck, 19, has been charged with capital murder. The second suspect, a 16-year-old teenager, was turned over to Harris County authorities on murder charges.

Buck and the teenager are accused of shooting 18-year-old Kevin Navu and injuring 19-year-old and 21-year-old teenagers during the shooting.

What’s happened

On November 19, 2022, Houston police responded to reports of a shooting in the 7200 block of Northline Drive around 8:00 pm.

When the police arrived, they found that one man had been shot in the shoulder and two others had received multiple shots.

Investigators said the three suspects approached the truck and started shooting at Nava, who was inside the vehicle, and two other men in the parking lot. The suspects then fled the scene.

Nava died on the spot, two other victims were taken to the hospital.

Buck was arrested on March 8 without incident. A third unknown suspect is still on the wanted list, investigators said.
